An estimated one-third of all food is lost or wasted worldwide as it moves from where it is produced to where it is eaten, even as more than 800 million people are undernourished

In the second issue of the Prevention Without Borders Journal the network highlights how the food losses issue is of crucial importance in both the efforts to face the worldwide problems of food security and in fighting hunger and raising income in the world’s poorest countries. The point is to maintain high level of food safety and wholesomeness; should the objective be reached, the environmental health would also benefit.
