….immigrated in Italy, DEGGÒ, highlighted the role of Senegalese women at household level and in the economic and cultural development of the Country. Information on Senegalese diet, food culture and food systems has been collected in urban, semi-urban and rural settings in the regions of Dakar, Thiès and Diourbel during the field investigation made in Senegal (February 2010). The investigation attracted the attention of ANSFES and DEGGO’, with special regard to i) measures to prevent dietary and behavioral factors in transgenerational health risks, ii) promotion of healthy foods and diets at the community level, iii) exploitation of the value of Senegalese traditional recipes.
