an Editorial Board as executive staff for the management of documents, information/communication activities and other initiatives
 
  

Our activities are devoted to all populations who are victims of hunger, and particularly to those who are forced to travel through the Mediterranean area since they cannot make a living on their homeland. Noodles wish all countries across the Mediterranean to see the bloom of peaceful trade, interbreeding culture and sustainable development.

Chiara Frazzoli. Chemist and PhD in Analytical and Real Systems’ Chemistry, she has been formerly enrolled at the European Community Reference Laboratory (CRL-EC) for residues and contaminants in live animals and their products and the WHO/FAO Collaborating Center for Veterinary Public Health (ISS). She is currently researcher at the Food and Veterinary Toxicology Unit within the Dept. of Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety of the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS), where her main activity covers the translation of fundamental research discoveries into public health strategies. Orish Ebere Orisakwe. MSC, PhD in Pharmacology&Toxicology, he is a European Registered Toxicologist. He has been involved in training and mentorship in various Pharmacology and Toxicology programmes in many Nigerian universities, including the Nnamdi Azikiwe University. He coordinates the African Society of Toxicological Sciences in Nigeria and is advisor of the Cameroon Society of Toxicological Sciences. He is one of the country liaisons of Africa Education Initiative. Environmental health

 

Elie Fokou. PhD in Biochemistry, he is associate professor at the Dept. Biochemistry of University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon, and researcher in Food science and human nutrition. Head of the Laboratory of food science and metabolism, he has coordinated activities of the consortium of three research institutions in a survey on food transformation in Yaoundé. His research interest is the nutritional quality of local food and their contribution in the management of public health nutritional problems. He has conducted collaborative research with some Cameroonian industries. He is currently member of the faculty committee in charge of relation with industries. Healthy diet

 

Carla Perrone. Director of professional high school (retired), she promoted educational and social activities in disadvantaged peri-urban roman areas. She led a number of pioneering school project towards the reduction of school abandoning by adolescents; her activities have been specifically aimed at the inclusion of minorities, including immigrants,as well as cultural mediation in transgenerational problems.  Treasurer

Roberto Dragone. Formerly enrolled in industrial research on characterisation and treatments of petroleum and derivatives and of industrial waters (Chimec spa), he has been responsible of the unit of "Production of Biological Raw Materials and Methods Validation" at the Pharmaceutical Industry (Serono spa). Since 1986 he carries out research activity in a public research body, the National Research Council (CNR), Rome, in the field of bio/chemo-systems for diagnostics and monitoring in environmental and food chemistry. Roberto Esposito. Senior public health development specialist with experience in programme management, practical Project Cycle Management, country and regional project appraisals etc. He has managed as team leader many health projects in different and multi-cultural settings in Mozambique, Ethiopia, Kenya and South Africa. He is highly experienced in research and development of health policies, particularly towards communicable diseases (i.e. prevention and control of Highly Pathogenic Emerging and infectious Diseases, including human and avian influenza; HIV/AIDS). He had extensive collaborations with the European Commission, the Italian Cooperation, the World Bank and other agencies like DFID, FAO, WHO, USAID, etc. Health policies and public health

 

Stefano Lorenzetti. Graduated in Biological Sciences and in Human Nutrition Sciences and formerly at the National Institute for Research on Food and Nutrition (INRAN), since 2006 he works on endocrine disruption and nuclear receptor-mediated signalling at the Food and Veterinary Toxicology Unit (Dpt. Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety, Italian National Institute of Health - ISS). Addressing effects of endocrine disruptors as reproductive and developmental toxicants and as obesogens, his activity is mainly devoted to in vitro alternative methods and characterization of biomarkers of exposure and/or effect for both toxicological and clinical investigations. Toxic substances and metabolism

Alberto Mantovani. Research Director and head of the Food and Veterinary Toxicology Unit within the Dept. of Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety of the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS). He chaired the Technical Working Group Endocrine Disrupters within the SCALE Project (2003-2004) to set the scientific bases of the “Environment and Health Action Plan” of the European Commission. Since 2009 he is vice-chair of the panel on additives and products or substances used in animal feed of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA FEEDAP). Endocrine Disrupters

 
Giorgio Antonio Presicce. Veterinary Surgeon and PhD in Reproductive Technologies. He served as Associate Professional Officer in the FAO Regional Project “Promotion of Trypanotolerant Livestock in West and Central Africa”, The Gambia. He then joined the Department of Animal Science at Cornell University as Post Doc and Assistant Professor later. Following other academic and consultancy positions at the University of Connecticut (Storrs), Virginia Polytechnic (Blacksburg), and several Countries in Asia, he was called by ARSIAL – Regione Lazio, where he is currently manager, to start and supervise a repro lab with the final goal of research and farm implementation of reproductive technologies. Mercy Achu. PhD in Biochemistry (Food Science and Nutrition), she is lecturer at the Dept. Biochemistry of the Univ. of Yaoundé I, Cameroon. She studies how to valorize local nutritive under-utilized foods, especially Cucurbit seeds (egusi seeds) and contributes the training of students for the annual seminar of the Biochemistry Club on Food Technology (e.g. fabrication of fruit jams, jellies and juices, yoghurt, beer) and soap making. She participates the African Malaria and Nutrition Initiative (AMANI) project on Vitamin A and Zinc to reduce the incidence of malaria, including training of health workers and community education on the benefits of mushrooms on the immune system. Christian Kweku Adokoh. Principal research assistant at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, he is member of the Ghana Chemical Society. Rachel Cheng. BSc in Food Science (University of Nottingham), MSc in Management (Imperial College London) and MA in Human Development and Food Security (University of Roma Tre). With previous experience in product development and management in private food industry in the UK, she is familiar with HACCP approach in UK food industry for ensuring food safety in manufacturing products, food factory design, product development as well as marketing of food products in international markets. She is currently enrolled at Barilla in Research and Development in Parma, Italy. Ilaria Proietti. PhD student in the “Food quality and Safety” area at the Italian Catholic University. She is conducting her PhD research on Anti-Nutritional Factors at the Food and Veterinary Toxicology Unit at the Dept. of Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety of the National Institute of Health (ISS), Italy. Her research interest mainly covers the dynamic relationship between food safety and food security in developing countries.
